Whisky galore boost for York Hospital appeal

WHISKY lovers have boosted The Press’s Guardian Angels Appeal by £250 following a tasting session in a York bar.

The fundraiser was held at The Biltmore Bar & Grill to celebrate the official launch of The Whisky Lounge – a York-based company that runs tasting events across the country.

Twenty guests took part in a whisky master-class put on by the founder Eddie Ludlow – with the full £10 ticket price going straight to our appeal. Later on, customers at The Biltmore were treated to a free whisky cocktail and enjoyed live music from The Mojitos – a Newcastle-based band.

The evening was then rounded off with a whisky-themed gourmet dinner.

Eddie, 35, of Fulford, York, will hold his next tasting, called Ireland Vs Scotland, at Meltons Too bistro, in Walmgate, York, on Sunday.
