A “BRILLIANT” boss from a dental practice which is practising service with a smile is in line for a Community Pride award.
Robert Grabowski, of the Crystal Clear Dental Spa, in York, has been nominated for an award for the care he gives to both his customers and his staff.
Bevlee Langan, of Herman Walk, Foxwood, York, began working for Mr Grabowski in January. She said he puts his patients at ease, always has a smile on his face and is a joy to work for.
She said: “I think Robert and Crystal Clear Dental Spa would be perfect for the Service With A Smile category. I have been working for the company since the beginning of the year and have found working with Robert a fantastic experience.
“The company opened in September last year and is relatively new. Since I have been working for him I have been a part of the development of the practice and the newly-opened practice in Haxby, the Haxby Family Dental Practice.
“Since joining I have learned new skills which I would have previously not learned and been given a great deal more challenges and responsibilities.”
Bevlee said she felt “drained” in her old job and working for Mr Grabowski had given her a new lease of life.
“He is always laughing and joking making my days at work more pleasurable and enjoyable,” she said.
“He has always been there for me and bends over backwards to help all of his staff. Robert is always fantastic with patients always putting them at ease, especially nervous patients and is great fun with the children.
“He is a pleasure to work with, always with a smile on his face with me and the staff and all of his patients, and this is why I think he should be nominated for this award.”
Mr Grabowski said he was “shocked, but pleased” to be nominated.
He said: “There is no point being boring and dull when you can laugh your way through the day. I always like to see all of my staff and patients smiling and what better way to have that then smiling yourself with a few jokes to help.
“In my line of work you very rarely see a happy smiling patient at the dentist so it’s my job to change that.”
There is still time to nominate unsung heroes from our local community – just fill in the form via the related link. Send us a non-returnable picture of your nominee if possible, plus any other useful information. All entries must be in by July 23.
